New Job!

I will be teaching religion this fall at a Catholic Junior high and High School in a town of about 35,000 people, 90 miles from my hometown. The population and distance from “home” are ideal for where I want to be right now. It is a small school, and I will be the religion department, since I will be teaching every grade level. This will be a great chance to teach and learn about a variety of Catholic subjects.

That sounds like a fun job. Knowing you, I would think that these students are going to receive a very good education. It sounds like a daunting challenge - all four grades? At least you will be in a high school, so you don’t have to deal with university leftists or snotty academic pinheads. Plus, you will get to start from scratch (or near scratch) in forming your students’ minds. They are in high school, so they should come to your classes with a relatively blank slate. That is preferrable to teaching college students who have formed bad conceptions of the faith due to years of bad catechetics.

    Hey David,
Glad to hear about the job. I hope things are going well for you. It is nice to be able to see the going ons of old friends with such ease and so little commitment. With well wishes,
    Jodie
